ENGINE2025 / Monday 24 February - Friday 28 February, 2025
Eco-efficient and safer energy production and storage are key issues for our society. Electrochemical energy conversion devices (e.g. fuel cells, electrolyzers etc.) andstorage (e.g. batteries, supercapacitors etc.) are of interests due to their great performance, durabillity, and safety. Finely understanding all the phenomena at stake in these devices within the materials and at the different interfaces is of importance. Moreover, many different aspects must be considered to develop a reliable device such as circularity (e.g. recycling, eco-conception) as it is now a key point to withstand innovation.
In this context, the fourth edition of the grEnoble eNerGy conversIoN & storagE (ENGINE2025) school offers a theoretical and practical training related to electrochemistry for energy applications across all relevant length scales (from local (nm) to bulk (cm)) and considering their reuses. The school will focus on the understanding and analysis of selected Key Enabling Technologies, namely:
Anion & Proton exchange membrane fuel cells
Hydrogen production and storage devices
Electrolyzers
All-solid-state batteries
Supercapacitors
For its 4th edition, ENGINE2025 will offer courses in electrochemistry, topical and invited seminars from academic and industrial partners, and visits of the ESRF synchrotron X-ray source & ILL neutron reactor with talks from beamline scientists. In additon, all the attendees are encouraged to present their work during poster sessions (poster prizes will be awarded to the best communications).
